Wedding: Tiffany and Matt at Wolf Oak Acres, Oneida, 8/18/18

While I haven't actually sat down to count it, Wolf Oak Acres is probably the venue where I've DJ'ed the most weddings so far.  If not, it's gotta be pretty close to the top!  Tiffany and Matt were my second out of three 2018 weddings at this Madison County venue, just a few miles outside of Oneida. Check out the uplighting and song selections in today's blog post.Just as was the case for most of my previous wedding DJ engagements at Wolf Oak Acres, Tiffany and Matt opted for the pondside ceremony location.  Early rain and cloudy skies on the drive to Oneida had me wondering if we'd need to move the ceremony indoors.  Fortunately, the rain would stay away long enough to stick with the original plans.  Phew!

Wedding DJ Peter Naughton's outdoor setup for Tiffany and Matt's ceremony at Wolf Oak Acres

Outdoor ceremony, with sound system under the tent to the left.

The need for sound in three different places (but only one at a time) required the use of two sound systems.  I once again enacted my tried-and-true procedure for this venue: One system was set-up at the ceremony site, protected from the threat of rain by my canopy tent.  (You'll notice it's well off to the side, so it doesn't impose on ceremony photos.) The other system was set-up on the barn's upper level for cocktail hour.

As soon as the ceremony was over, I zipped over to the barn to begin cocktail hour music, then back to the ceremony site to pack-up that equipment. After a brief van ride to the barn, I set it all up again on the lower level, where dinner and dancing would take place.

Cocktail hour also provided the opportunity for me to set-up the uplighting.  In the past, when I only had 12 uplights, I could only provide uplighting for the dining area on the lower level.  This time, I had 24 uplights, allowing me to cover the entire first floor.  Set-up was complete shortly before it was time to make the announcement upstairs, to ask everyone to head downstairs.  Once they've all moved, we line-up the wedding party for introductions at the top of the stairs; the party comes down the stairs as their names are announced.

My only regret: I forgot my good camera at home, so I had to rely on my phone for the photos you'll see below.  But... regular readers of my blog know what comes before we get to the photos:

It was a pleasant surprise to learn, a few weeks before the wedding, that Tiffany and Matt hired Rev. Anthony Tosti to officiate.  Father Tony officiated my own wedding, so it's always nice to catch-up with him and his wife Linda when we happen to work the same weddings, about once or twice a year.

Again, a gentle reminder that I'm a wedding DJ, not a photographer -- putting so much attention on making sure I had packed all the audio gear I needed for this wedding, I forgot to grab my DSLR camera, so please pardon the cell phone photos.  Scroll through to find out how to like/tag and see even more on Facebook -- along with a link to some much-better photos by Tiffany and Matt's professional photographer.

Here's another look at the sparkler lineup from the official photographer, Jill Studio Photography:

Check out Jill's blog post about this wedding for many more pictures -- all better than mine -- including some great shots showing the increased quantity of uplighting that I now offer.  Jill's blog also has a complete list of vendors Tiffany and Matt used, for everything from makeup and their attire to the cake and limousine.

Thanks again to Tiffany and Matt for selecting me as your wedding DJ!  It was great getting to know you both and I'm glad the weather cooperated with all of the plans.  And as always, a pleasure to work alongside Katrina and Russell, the owners of Wolf Oak Acres.  Looking forward to returning later this month, for my third and final wedding DJ engagement there for 2018!  And thank you for reading my blog.  If you found it while looking for wedding DJs, I hope you'll consider me!  See if I'm available for your date, and contact me for a quote.
